High End Residential Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Create precise and comprehensive cost estimates for high-end custom residential projects with a value exceeding $10M.

• Execute thorough material quantity takeoffs, covering concrete cubic yards, lumber and framing needs, roofing details, and other construction materials.

• Compute and model project expenses, taking into account materials, labor, equipment, and construction necessities.

• Assess remote construction logistics, which include shipping, fuel, transportation, material sourcing, and delivery schedules for off-the-grid island locations.

• Consider unique site conditions, labor productivity, material availability, and scheduling limitations that may impact project costs.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for estimating, cost modeling, and calculations.

• Collaborate closely with the owner to enhance and tailor estimating practices to align with company standards and project needs.

• Conduct independent reviews of estimates, pinpoint potential cost risks, and ensure accuracy and thoroughness.

• Operate autonomously in a completely remote setting while preserving effective communication with the owner.

• Report directly to the company owner.

• Foster a dependable, long-term working relationship.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10+ years of pertinent experience in construction, estimating, or engineering.

• A technical background in civil, structural, or mechanical engineering, architecture, or substantial field-based construction estimating.

• A solid grasp of construction fundamentals, including material takeoffs, concrete calculations, lumber framing, roofing systems, and general building science.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

• Experience with complex, high-value construction projects, ideally within the luxury residential or specialized construction sectors.

• Knowledge of remote or island construction logistics, encompassing shipping timelines, material sourcing, transportation, fuel costs, and labor productivity challenges.

• Familiarity with international supply chains or logistics-intensive construction projects is highly advantageous.

• Strong analytical abilities and exceptional attention to detail.

• Capability to identify potential cost and project risks.

• Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn and align with the owner's estimating approach.

• Humble, coachable, and confident in applying practical field knowledge to technical estimating tasks.

• Proficient in English.

• Ability to work independently and adapt to the client's estimating methodology.

• Must be available to work within a U.S. time zone, including EST, MST, CST, or PST.

• Comfortable utilizing Microsoft Excel as the main estimating tool.

• Resume must be submitted in English format.
