Hematology Medical Director – VEXAS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Lead the medical strategy and external engagement for the VEXAS disease area within the Vonjo (pacritinib) Medical Affairs team.

• Act as the primary medical representative for VEXAS, guiding the US medical strategy while working closely with Field Medical to engage and inform healthcare providers (HCPs), medical organizations, payers, and patient advocacy groups.

• Function as the medical lead on the Brand Team and engage in cross-functional collaboration to promote shared business objectives.

• Provide strategic oversight for medical strategy, brand-aligned tactics, and external clinician engagement within academic, community, and multidisciplinary care environments.

• Collaborate with the Field Medical Team to create and enhance engagement plans for key opinion leaders (KOLs) and significant institutions.

• Partner with Field Medical to identify resource requirements and jointly develop specific field materials and tactics for VEXAS.

• Spearhead the planning and execution of advisory boards and educational initiatives, including webinars, medical roundtables, symposia, and congress participation.

• Generate and disseminate medical insights to internal stakeholders, utilizing them to refine strategies and tactics.

• Cultivate strong collaborative relationships across Market Access, Medical Information, Clinical Development, Sales, and Marketing.

• Contribute to evidence generation projects, real-world evidence studies, and publications that support the VEXAS disease area.

• Assist in launch readiness through disease education, articulating unmet needs, and planning for evidence generation.

• Maintain the collaborative culture of Hematology Medical Affairs—valuing and appreciating every team member while encouraging excellence and a shared mission.


⛳️ Requirements

• MD, PhD, or PharmD required.

• At least 3 years of experience as an Associate or Medical Director.

• Willingness to travel up to 50%, primarily within the domestic region.

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.

• Proven capability in establishing meaningful, bi-directional relationships with the medical community.

• Strong scientific and clinical knowledge complemented by strategic and analytical thinking.

• Demonstrated leadership in core Medical Affairs functions, including evidence generation, publications, medical education, and strategy development.

• A collaborative, cross-functional mentality with the drive to work effectively at all organizational levels.

• A results-oriented approach characterized by urgency, solution-focus, and innovation.

• A self-motivated, hands-on team player with strong interpersonal skills, comfortable engaging in a fast-paced environment.
