Hematology Medical Director – VEXAS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Oversee the medical strategy and external engagement for the VEXAS disease area within the Vonjo (pacritinib) Medical Affairs team.

• Define how Sobi engages with the VEXAS patient and provider community, fostering scientific credibility and trust within the hematology, rheumatology, dermatology, and inflammation sectors.

• Act as the primary medical representative for VEXAS, steering the US medical strategy and closely collaborating with Field Medical to inform and educate healthcare providers (HCPs), medical organizations, payers, and patient advocacy groups.

• Direct the planning and implementation of advisory boards and educational initiatives, including webinars, medical roundtables, symposia, and participation at congresses.

• Work alongside Field Medical to determine resource requirements and co-create field materials and strategies tailored to VEXAS.

• Produce and disseminate medical insights to internal stakeholders, leveraging them to enhance strategy and initiatives.

• Establish strong collaborative relationships across Market Access, Medical Information, Clinical Development, Sales, and Marketing.

• Contribute to evidence generation projects, real-world evidence studies, and publications that support the VEXAS disease area.

• Facilitate launch preparedness through disease education, identification of unmet needs, and planning for evidence generation.

• Promote the collaborative culture of Hematology Medical Affairs, valuing and appreciating every team member while encouraging excellence and a shared mission.


⛳️ Requirements

• MD, PhD, or PharmD degree.

• At least 3 years of experience in a role as an Associate or Medical Director.

• Willingness to travel up to 50%, primarily within the domestic sphere.

• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, including the skill to convey complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.

• Proven capability to build significant, two-way relationships with the medical community.

• Strong scientific and clinical knowledge combined with strategic and analytical thinking skills.

• Demonstrated leadership across essential Medical Affairs functions, such as evidence generation, publications, medical education, and strategy formulation.

• A collaborative, cross-functional mindset with the drive to work effectively at all levels of the organization.

• A results-oriented approach characterized by a sense of urgency, solution-focused thinking, and innovation.

• A proactive, hands-on team player with strong interpersonal abilities, comfortable engaging in a fast-paced environment.
