Healthcare Programmer, Medicaid, Pharmacy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Extract, recode, merge, and eliminate duplicates in datasets for analysis.

• Execute outlier analyses, handle missing data, and formulate derived analysis variables.

• Conduct statistical analyses to support research and reporting requirements.

• Create tailored reports that summarize the outcomes of data analyses.

• Generate computer-assisted data listings, summary tables, and outputs for data collection.

• Offer technical guidance, mentorship, and training to junior SAS programmers.

• Troubleshoot and modify code by identifying and rectifying programming issues.

• Document and maintain records for code, programs, and technical specifications.

• Prepare technical reports and assist in the development of proposals.

• Undertake related duties and special projects as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, Economics, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative discipline.

• At least 5 years of experience with large-scale healthcare administrative or claims data.

• Hands-on experience in processing and analyzing Medicare, Medicaid, and/or other commercial claims data.

• Direct experience with pharmaceutical pricing data, prescription drug encounter data, or similar data sources.

• Proficient in using SQL, Python, R, and/or other data analysis tools.

• Understanding of data analysis and management techniques.

• Experience utilizing SAS in research or analytical environments, especially in health or social sciences.

• Familiarity with advanced analytic techniques such as machine learning is preferred, but not mandatory.

• Experience in proposal and report preparation is preferred, but not necessary.

• Competent in all facets of data processing management.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a virtual work setting.

• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

• Capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

• Ability to handle multiple concurrent deliveries in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.

• Currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.

• Employment-based visa sponsorship, including H-1B sponsorship, is not offered.

• May be required to meet specific residency criteria based on project work.

• Selected candidates will be subject to reference and background checks.
