Healthcare Policy Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide support to state Medicaid agencies, various state entities, and healthcare industry clients regarding program strategy, design, development, and implementation.

• Spearhead the development of Medicaid and state program policy strategies while creating innovative solutions.

• Conduct thorough analysis of intricate legislation, regulations, and federal guidance.

• Assist states in securing federal authorities, which includes waivers, state plan amendments, federal grants, and demonstrations.

• Create state policy documents and program materials.

• Evaluate regulatory requirements and assess their implications for client programs.

• Investigate leading-practice program methodologies and assess trade-offs.

• Generate client reports and compelling presentation materials.

• Clearly communicate results, policy options, and considerations both verbally and in writing.

• Facilitate discussions with clients and lead stakeholder engagement activities.

• Establish rapport and trust with state clients, serving as a reliable point of contact.

• Oversee project management and track progress and success metrics.

• Contribute to business development strategies and initiatives.

• Create thought leadership articles and policy summaries.

• Maintain expertise in Medicaid policy and monitor regulatory trends.

• Lead and mentor team members.

• Ensure adherence to quality control processes and procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in a state Medicaid agency, CMS, relevant consulting, or related state health and human services programs.

• Proven experience in leading and managing complex Medicaid policy projects.

• Background in regulatory, policy, or program administration in areas such as Medicaid managed care, Medicaid financing policy, long-term services and supports, healthcare quality measurement and improvement, value-based payment, healthcare delivery transformation, or safety net delivery systems.

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree is required.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy, Public Affairs, Public Health, or a related field.

• Exceptional strategic thinking abilities.

• Outstanding problem-solving skills and a capacity for rapid learning.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Extensive experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.

• Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple projects.

• Experience in managing teams effectively.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for immigration support or sponsorship now or in the future.
