Healthcare Life Safety Code Consultant, Physical Environment, Emergency Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct comprehensive on-site assessments of the physical environments at healthcare facilities and carry out multiday surveys.

• Record observations and create customized corrective action plans.

• Collaborate with clients to devise solutions that comply with NFPA, CMS, accrediting bodies, and relevant authorities.

• Evaluate emergency management programs and perform hazard vulnerability assessments.

• Create policies, procedures, training materials, and simulation exercises tailored for healthcare organizations.

• Convert regulatory requirements into actionable strategies for clients.

• Provide both practical and classroom instruction in fire safety, fire response, and surgical fire prevention techniques.

• Act as the main point of contact for client interactions and address their needs effectively.

• Assist in business development by recognizing opportunities, aiding in proposal creation, engaging in industry events, and presenting solutions.

• Collaborate with various disciplines to enhance services, share professional insights, and produce educational materials for clients.

• Stay updated on changes in regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and professional practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's or master's degree in fire protection, fire science, safety, emergency management, or a related discipline is preferred; an associate degree with pertinent experience will also be considered.

• A minimum of five years of experience in healthcare consulting or compliance, focusing on life safety, environment of care, or emergency management.

• Proven experience in leading client engagements and collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement effective solutions.

• Demonstrated ability to identify new business opportunities or expand existing client relationships.

• Knowledge of NFPA 101 and associated standards, including NFPA 13, 72, and 25.

• Familiarity with standards set forth by The Joint Commission, DNV, ACHC, and AAAHC.

• Understanding of the CMS 2016 Emergency Preparedness Rule and pertinent NFPA standards, including NFPA 99 and 1600.

• Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information to diverse audiences.

• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines efficiently.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and quick to adapt to new technology platforms.

• Willingness to travel domestically up to 50%, with potential assignments abroad.
