This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +2 more states.
• Accurately and efficiently handle requests for release of information and patient medical records.
• Manage inbound and outbound communications with patients, insurance companies, and attorneys regarding medical record status.
• Uphold confidentiality, security, and HIPAA compliance for sensitive patient information.
• Oversee patient health records to ensure they are complete, accurate, and organized in the standard order.
• Create new patient charts using both paper and electronic health record resources.
• Generate digital images of documents for electronic medical records.
• Retrieve and appropriately send patient records to both internal and external requesters.
• Document information across various platforms utilizing two computer monitors.
• Maintain a solid understanding of company and facility software.
• Communicate work-related issues, site challenges, and variations in workload to the manager.
• Provide assistance with patient walk-ins, faxes, mail management, data entry, and scheduling pickups as needed.
• Meet specific productivity targets set by the site.
• Carry out other assigned responsibilities.
• Completion of High School Diploma or GED.
• Capability to commute between locations as necessary.
• Willingness to work overtime during peak periods when required.
• Basic proficiency in computer applications.
• Comfortable using phones, fax machines, printers, and other standard office equipment regularly.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Excellent data entry skills.
• Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining accuracy and compliance in medical records.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to changing priorities.
• Skilled in organizing and managing multiple tasks effectively.
• Capable of responding to requests in a fast-paced environment.
• Not eligible for employment sponsorship.
• May need to complete post-offer health screenings and provide or receive vaccinations, subject to applicable exemptions.
