This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Accurately and efficiently process requests for release of information and medical records

• Protect patient confidentiality while ensuring that releases adhere to authorizations, company policies, and HIPAA regulations

• Receive and manage patient health information in line with company and facility protocols

• Uphold the confidentiality and security of sensitive information

• Maintain a solid understanding of both company and facility software

• Communicate with the manager regarding work challenges, site issues, and varying workloads

• Oversee patient health records to ensure adherence to HIPAA standards

• Prepare new patient charts utilizing both paper and electronic health record systems

• Organize medical records in a standardized format and confirm their accuracy and completeness

• Create digital copies of documents for electronic medical records

• Retrieve and properly send patient records to both internal and external requestors

• Manage inbound and outbound calls, providing updates on medical record statuses

• Assist patients who walk in

• Handle faxes, mail, data entry, and scheduling pickups as necessary

• Achieve site-specific productivity goals

• Undertake additional assigned responsibilities


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Ability to travel between locations as necessary

• Willingness to work overtime during peak seasons when required

• Basic proficiency with computers

• Comfortable using phones, fax machines, printers, and other standard office equipment regularly

• Professional verbal and written communication skills in English

• Detail-oriented and focused on maintaining accurate and compliant medical records

• Strong data entry capabilities

• Ability to work independently while adapting to changing priorities and role demands

• Capable of organizing and managing multiple tasks

• Ability to respond to requests in a fast-paced setting

• This position does not qualify for employment sponsorship

• Experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous

• Previous experience in production or metric-based roles is a plus

• In-person customer service experience is beneficial

• Skills in building rapport with on-site clients and customers are a plus

• Openness to sharing new ideas, suggesting process improvements, and providing feedback to internal stakeholders is a plus
