Health Coach – Bilingual Spanish/English

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide tailored, evidence-based virtual coaching aimed at assisting members in achieving sustainable behavior change, navigating healthcare resources, and fulfilling wellness objectives.

• Contribute to the multidisciplinary Weight Management program.

• Conduct personalized 30-minute one-on-one coaching sessions utilizing motivational interviewing and evidence-based behavior change techniques.

• Collaboratively develop actionable SMART goals and ensure ongoing accountability.

• Lead group coaching sessions and workshops.

• Implement screening tools and health measurements within the confines of professional practice.

• Maintain prompt clinical documentation and customized care plans.

• Collaborate with care managers, registered dietitians, and providers within weight management initiatives.

• Act as the behavior-change subject matter expert for the multidisciplinary care team.

• Direct members to the appropriate care level and assist in removing barriers to health.

• Connect members with digital health tools, health plan benefits, employer wellness programs, and community resources.

• Address member concerns and conduct proactive outreach calls.

• Oversee scheduling, appointment coordination, follow-ups, and an active member panel.

• Engage in wellness campaigns, incentive programs, and client events.

• Comply with the NBHWC Code of Ethics, HIPAA, PHI/PII protection protocols, and IT security standards.

• Maintain a dedicated, private, and professional workspace for virtual consultations.

• Escalate clinical or technical issues according to established operating procedures.

• Take part in quality assurance reviews, call audits, and routine feedback processes.

• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) credential is required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Kinesiology, Nutrition, Psychology, or a related field is necessary.

• A minimum of 2 years of health coaching experience, ideally in a clinical, healthcare, or digital health setting.

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or multilingual fluency is essential.

• Experience with weight management is preferred.

• Candidates progressing to the interview stage with the hiring manager will engage in a brief ~10-minute mock coaching session.

• Certification as a Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) Lifestyle Coach is preferred.

• Experience working with patients on GLP-1 treatments is preferred.

• Previous exposure to delivering care via telehealth or functioning within a remote team structure is preferred.

• A strong foundational understanding of the clinical boundaries between health coaching, health education, and behavioral health/therapy is required.

• Demonstrated excellence in customer service with a proven record of enhancing patient engagement and retention.

• Technical proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, Salesforce, and Google Workspace is preferred.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, coupled with a professional and empathetic demeanor.

• Strong ability to manage caseloads, multitask, and maintain acute attention to detail.

• Adaptable and resilient in a fast-paced environment; receptive to evolving workflows and continuous feedback.

• Willingness to modify working hours based on the needs of members, the company, and clients.

• Ability to sustain prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a workstation.

• Extensive daily usage of a computer, headset, phone, and video conferencing tools.

• Manual dexterity for typing and computer data entry; corrected vision, hearing, and speech within normal ranges.
