Head of Software Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Lead engineering managers in the development of SaaS products, emphasizing value delivery, efficiency, and technical excellence.

• Convert the strategic goals of the unit into actionable development plans.

• Ensure the attainment of efficiency, quality, and velocity metrics.

• Create and oversee short- and medium-term action plans utilizing engineering metrics.

• Encourage the continuous evolution of teams and systems.

• Act as a steward of the engineering culture, advocating for best practices, innovation, and an "AI First" approach.

• Spearhead the integration of AI throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Promote collaboration among product, data, design, and customer support teams.

• Cultivate talent, enhance organizational climate, and foster a culture of autonomy with accountability.

• Manage capacity and resource planning, budget allocation, organizational structure, and prioritization of investments.

• Influence strategic technical choices related to architecture, scalability, observability, and security.

• Propel technological advancements, modernization of systems, and management of technical debt.

• Operate with a digital mindset, demonstrating curiosity for emerging technologies and a keen interest in AI applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in leading software engineering teams, including the management and development of managers and several SaaS product teams.

• Prior experience as a software developer with practical knowledge in engineering and constructing SaaS systems.

• Strong background in SaaS products and software engineering methodologies.

• Proficient analytical skills and systems thinking for making data-driven decisions.

• Exceptional communication, influencing, and stakeholder management abilities across varied teams.

• Experience in defining and managing engineering metrics, utilizing measures such as cycle time, throughput, DORA metrics, quality, and reliability.

• Familiarity with agile methodologies and the ability to formulate tactical plans for technical advancement.

• Knowledge or experience in applying Artificial Intelligence within the software development lifecycle, with a focus on productivity, quality, and efficiency.
