Head of IT Infrastructure – Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Overall accountability for the IT infrastructure and its ongoing enhancement

• Contribute to the organization-wide IT strategy, along with processes, standards, and solutions

• Lead and mentor a team of 6 employees across various locations, primarily in a remote capacity

• Continuously adjust departmental structures to meet operational demands

• Ensure the seamless operation of internal networks and IT telecommunication systems, including workplace management

• Oversee the operation and progressive development of server and client systems within the data center (housing/hosting)

• Provide 1st- and 2nd-level support

• Enhance incident, problem, and change management processes within the infrastructure environment

• Develop and implement IT policies in alignment with ISO 27001 and established security standards

• Assess and integrate new technologies to improve stability, efficiency, scalability, and security

• Manage relationships with external service providers

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a comparable field

• Several years of leadership experience in IT, focusing on IT infrastructure (both on-premises and cloud) and IT security

• Demonstrated expertise in change management and guiding teams through transformation processes

• In-depth knowledge of infrastructure security and cybersecurity practices

• Experience with backup and recovery solutions as well as patch management

• Process-oriented approach

• Extensive experience with IT service management frameworks, preferably ITIL

• Familiarity with ticketing systems, ideally Jira

• Ideally possess strong knowledge of modern workplace environments, especially Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Entra, Intune)

• Strategic thinker with a practical approach

• Proficient in both German and English

• Willingness to travel approximately twice a month
