Head of IT Infrastructure and IT Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Overall accountability for the IT infrastructure and its ongoing advancement

• Contributing to the organization-wide IT strategy

• Leading and nurturing a team of six employees across various locations, primarily operating remotely

• Continuously adjusting departmental structures to meet operational demands

• Ensuring the seamless functionality of internal network and IT telecommunications systems, including workplace management

• Overseeing the operation and continuous improvement of server and client systems in the data center (housing/hosting)

• Providing 1st- and 2nd-level support

• Enhancing incident, problem, and change management processes

• Developing and enforcing IT policies in line with ISO 27001 and established security standards

• Assessing and implementing new technologies to enhance stability, efficiency, scalability, and security

• Managing external service providers

⛳️ Requirements

• Successfully completed degree in computer science, business informatics, or a similar qualification

• Several years of leadership experience in an IT setting, focusing on IT infrastructure (on-premises and cloud) and IT security

• Proven expertise in change management and guiding teams through transformation processes

• Comprehensive understanding of infrastructure security and cybersecurity practices

• Experience with backup and recovery as well as patch management

• Process-oriented mindset

• Extensive experience with IT service management frameworks, preferably ITIL

• Familiarity with ticketing systems, ideally Jira

• Ideally, strong knowledge of modern workplace environments, particularly Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Entra, Intune)

• Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach

• Excellent proficiency in German and English

• Willingness to travel (approximately twice per month)
