This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Build and spearhead the Infrastructure Security Engineering team focused on EDA clusters.
• Expand and guide a team of engineers while cultivating leadership within the group.
• Take ownership of the technical roadmap for security controls specific to EDA.
• Collaborate with security teams and infrastructure engineering to design and implement controls in production.
• Utilize network and platform infrastructure as the basis for security controls.
• Assess where traditional endpoint and workload security tools are applicable and create alternatives when necessary.
• Safeguard multi-day compute tasks without compromising performance.
• Ensure uniform application of security frameworks across on-premises data centers and multi-cloud environments.
• Oversee the entire lifecycle of core infrastructure security technologies, from selection and deployment to operation and replacement.
• Develop KPIs, instrumentation, and audit processes to consistently reveal the security posture.
• Strategize mitigations across network, storage, and compute resources.
• Integrate automation and secure defaults into the infrastructure lifecycle.
• 12+ years of experience in building and managing production infrastructure at scale, encompassing network, compute clusters, and storage.
• 5+ years of experience in leading and managing engineering teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• Profound networking expertise applied to extensive compute environments.
• Practical experience in managing compute fleets at scale, including provisioning, lifecycle management, and long-running, high-value jobs.
• In-depth understanding of hyperscaler methodologies for operating large-scale systems with security and reliability as equally important objectives.
• Experience in securing performance-sensitive or high-throughput environments where conventional agent-based tools were limited.
• Extensive background in building and directing engineering teams responsible for complex distributed or multi-cloud architectures.
• Capability to achieve unified outcomes across organizational boundaries with non-reporting partners.
• Outstanding communication abilities that resonate with both individual engineers and executive leadership.
• Experience with kernel- and fabric-level observability and enforcement, including eBPF, in-line and out-of-band inspection, and DPU/SmartNIC offload.
• Proven record of leading security or platform engineering within EDA, HPC, or large research-cluster settings.
• Broad knowledge across IAM, EDR/XDR, CNAPP, CSPM, vulnerability lifecycle, and zero-trust architectures, or a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new domains.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and policy-as-code initiatives.
• Familiarity with translating SOC2 / ISO27001 into tangible technical controls.
