This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +1 more country.
• Take charge of the comprehensive payments and banking fraud prevention strategy across all Kraken offerings.
• Define the vision, roadmap, and OKRs in collaboration with Product, Engineering, Security, Compliance, and Legal teams.
• Build, lead, and mentor a multi-tiered fraud organization encompassing analysts, investigators, and managers.
• Create career progression frameworks with clearly defined advancement criteria.
• Collaborate with executives and regulators to address emerging fraud trends, techniques, and technologies.
• Direct analyses to proactively identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Track payment trends and regulatory changes to enhance approval/decline rates and revenue while upholding fraud controls.
• Design, implement, and uphold fraud policies, rule frameworks, and control processes.
• Maintain risk assessment, mitigation, governance, and audit processes.
• Oversee fraud detection systems, tools, and escalation pathways for complex or novel cases.
• Ensure analyst SLA and QA standards across high-volume, real-time alert queues.
• Coordinate Fraud Operations with Customer Support, Compliance, Legal, Product, and Security.
• Lead fraud and payment KPI analysis and executive reporting on daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly schedules.
• Implement consistent global coverage standards across all markets.
• Over 10 years of experience in banking, payment processing, or fraud risk management, including prior experience in building or leading a fraud team.
• Proven experience in managing strategic fraud/payments programs and front-line, high-volume analyst operations.
• Familiarity with Card, Third-Party, and Peer-to-Peer payment fraud.
• Understanding of relevant banking regulatory and compliance frameworks.
• Working knowledge of UK and other non-US regulatory environments, including FCA and PSR.
• Proficient in data analytics and reporting.
• Experience in developing career frameworks, mentoring managers, and scaling operational teams.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, and rapidly changing industry.
