Head of Finance – Multi-Entity Ecommerce

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Take responsibility for the financial records of all entities, both US and international, using QuickBooks Online; ensure a well-organized entity and class structure and perform monthly reconciliations.

• Supervise the accounting assistant in tasks related to categorization, receipts, invoices, and reconciliations, while also conducting quality assurance on their work.

• Manage payments for contractors, partners, and distributions, ensuring each individual receives the correct amount punctually and with proper documentation.

• Monitor ownership splits and distributions, providing clarity to every partner regarding their entitlements and the rationale behind them.

• Develop dashboards that illustrate cash flow, revenue, costs, and margins for each entity and across the entire portfolio.

• Create projections and cash flow forecasts to facilitate proactive decision-making.

• Deliver a monthly business review to partners, highlighting growth, potential losses, and suggested actions.

• Analyze costs, subscriptions, and vendor expenditures, collaborating with the team to enhance efficiency.

• Establish financial setups for every new company, including opening bank accounts, creating QuickBooks files, and organizing structures.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2 to 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably with responsibility for the financial management of a multi-entity business with revenues in the eight-figure range or higher.

• Proficient in QuickBooks Online, including classes, multiple entities, and consolidated reporting.

• Comfortable managing both US and international entities and currencies; knowledge of US tax regulations is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Experience in e-commerce is a plus but not required; it aids in swiftly understanding Shopify payouts, Stripe, advertising expenditures, and contractor payments.

• CPA, CA, ACCA, or an equivalent certification is highly preferred.

• Familiar with AI technology; capable of utilizing AI to expedite the creation of models, dashboards, and workflows, while ensuring the confidentiality of financial data.

• Must be available during core hours and possess strong asynchronous communication skills.

• References from founders or owners for whom you have managed the financials are highly valued.

• Should demonstrate self-direction and proactivity.

• Must have a meticulous approach to reconciliations, rejecting the notion of "close enough."

• Experience managing the books for a business with eight-figure revenues is expected.
