Head of Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Overall accountability for Finance and Controlling

• Performing annual analyses of financial statements and balance sheets, along with formulating actionable recommendations

• Overseeing and enhancing internal accounting systems (DATEV, Candis, etc.)

• Structuring and refining the invoice receipt process, as well as managing accounts receivable and payable invoices

• Defining and streamlining internal procedures, especially for travel expense reimbursements and procurement

• Supervising payment transactions and nurturing banking relationships

• Compiling thorough financial analyses and devising strategies to reduce costs, enhance efficiency, and increase transparency

• Assisting executive management with financial modeling and the formulation of strategic business plans

• Continuously advancing and refining controlling processes

• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and generating relevant reports

• Developing financial models and business plans for new business ventures in close collaboration with executive management

⛳️ Requirements

• Completed degree in Business Administration, with a focus on Controlling, Finance, or Accounting

• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Finance and Accounting, preferably in a rapidly growing startup environment

• Well-structured, meticulous, and goal-oriented work approach, complemented by strong planning and organizational skills

• Experience in establishing and structuring cost centers and cost objects

• Solid financial acumen and experience in preparing business cases, business plans, and financial models

• High reliability, precision, and a strong sense of responsibility

• Proficiency in both German and English, along with strong negotiation skills

• Initial leadership experience as a team lead is beneficial

• Nice to have: Experience with educational and training providers (AZAV), knowledge of the education sector, and/or practical experience at providers of (IT) professional training
