This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• Take ownership of the technical strategy, architecture, and comprehensive roadmap for the Rewards Platform.
• Enhance the performance, reliability, and features of the current cashback product.
• Transform cashback into a more extensive rewards, retention, engagement, and personalization platform.
• Develop and expand the engineering organization, which includes structuring product units and recruiting engineers and Engineering Managers.
• Foster a culture of experimentation through A/B testing, cohort analysis, and measuring customer behavior.
• Collaborate with Growth, Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to translate acquisition and retention goals into actionable initiatives.
• Manage the customer-facing rewards experience across both mobile and web platforms.
• Establish architectural standards, engineering processes, quality metrics, and practices to ensure engineering health.
• Build a platform capable of serving customers in multiple geographical regions.
• Define metrics and OKRs specific to rewards, holding the team accountable for achieving them.
• Functionally report to the Group CTO while also having a dual reporting line to the Product leader for Rewards.
• Experience in direct-to-consumer product engineering at scale.
• Strong expertise in front-end and mobile engineering.
• Practical experience with A/B testing, feature flagging, and measurement frameworks.
• A minimum of 5 years managing managers.
• Over 10 years of overall software engineering experience.
• At least 5 years of experience leading engineering teams through phases of growth.
• Proven hands-on technical leadership along with significant hands-on engineering involvement.
• Proficient in Java and Spring Boot backend environments.
• Experience in building and scaling an engineering organization from a small foundation.
• Skilled in hiring and developing Engineering Managers.
• Strong collaborative skills with growth, marketing, and sales stakeholders.
• Experience in rewards, loyalty, gamification, personalization, or growth platforms is a plus, though not mandatory.
• Knowledge of fintech or payments is advantageous but not a requirement.
• Complete autonomy as the CTO of your domain.
