This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Take ownership of the technical strategy, architecture, and comprehensive roadmap for the Rewards Platform.
• Enhance the performance, reliability, and functionality of the current cashback product.
• Transition cashback into a more extensive rewards, retention, engagement, and personalization platform.
• Develop and expand the engineering organization by structuring product units and recruiting engineers and Engineering Managers.
• Foster an experimentation culture utilizing A/B testing, cohort analysis, and performance measurement.
• Collaborate with Growth, Sales, and Marketing teams to convert acquisition and retention goals into engineering projects.
• Manage the customer-facing rewards experience on both mobile and web platforms.
• Establish standards for architecture, engineering processes, and quality metrics.
• Oversee engineering health metrics, including incidents, production defects, deployment frequency, change failure rate, and developer experience.
• Build the platform to cater to customers across various geographical locations.
• Partner with Product teams to define rewards metrics and OKRs.
• Report functionally to the Group CTO while also having a dual reporting line to the Product leader for Rewards.
• Experience in direct-to-consumer product engineering at scale.
• Strong expertise in front-end and mobile engineering.
• Proven experience in conducting A/B tests, feature flagging, and utilizing measurement frameworks.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing managers.
• At least 10 years of overall software engineering experience.
• A minimum of 5 years leading engineering teams during growth phases.
• Hands-on engineering experience along with technical credibility.
• Proficiency with Java and Spring Boot backend environments.
• Experience in building and scaling an engineering organization from a small foundation.
• Background in hiring and developing Engineering Managers.
• Strong collaborative skills with growth, marketing, and sales stakeholders.
• Experience in rewards, loyalty, gamification, personalization, or growth platforms is a plus but not mandatory.
• Fintech or payments experience is advantageous but not required.
• Full autonomy as the CTO of the Rewards domain.
• Support to build the engineering organization required to tackle the challenges.
