Head of Engineering, Rewards

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Lead the technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the Rewards Platform.

• Enhance the performance, reliability, and scope of the existing cashback product.

• Transform cashback into a comprehensive platform for rewards, retention, engagement, and personalization.

• Develop the engineering organization by structuring product units and recruiting engineers and Engineering Managers.

• Foster a culture of experimentation through A/B testing, cohort analysis, and performance measurement.

• Collaborate with Growth, Sales, and Marketing teams to convert acquisition and retention goals into actionable initiatives.

• Oversee the customer-facing rewards experience on both mobile and web platforms.

• Establish architecture standards, engineering processes, and quality metrics.

• Manage engineering health, including incidents, production defects, deployment frequency, change failure rates, and developer experience.

• Develop the platform to cater to customers in various geographical locations.

• Collaborate with Product to establish rewards metrics and OKRs.

• Report functionally to the Group CTO while also having a dual reporting line to the Product leader for Rewards.


⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in direct-to-consumer product engineering at scale.

• Strong expertise in front-end and mobile engineering.

• Practical experience with A/B testing, feature flagging, and measurement frameworks.

• Minimum of 5 years managing managers.

• Over 10 years of overall software engineering experience.

• At least 5 years of experience in leading engineering teams through phases of growth.

• Hands-on technical leadership with significant hands-on engineering involvement.

• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.

• Experience in building and scaling an engineering organization from a small foundation.

• Expertise in hiring and developing Engineering Managers.

• Strong collaborative skills with growth, marketing, and sales stakeholders.

• Experience in rewards, loyalty, gamification, personalization, or growth platforms is a plus but not mandatory.

• Experience in fintech or payments is advantageous but not essential.
