Head of Engineering – Network Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Lead a team of 10 engineers, including Site Reliability Engineers (SRE)

• Establish priorities, delegate tasks, conduct one-on-one meetings, and foster team development

• Take ownership of the technical direction and platform architecture

• Define and enforce engineering standards

• Collaborate with the team to write and review production code

• Enhance the product-to-engineering handoff, including managing tickets, subtasks, estimates, and refinement processes

• Communicate the roadmap, status updates, and potential risks to product stakeholders and leadership

• Relay business context back to the engineering team

• Remove obstacles to facilitate delivery and ensure reliable release schedules

• Advance engineering practices, including the use of AI in development

• Recruit, onboard, and retain engineering talent

• Report directly to the CEO and take part in the leadership team

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Head of Engineering, Engineering Director, or senior technical leader

• Proven ability to grow and shape an engineering team or organization from the ground up

• Experience in a dynamic startup or scale-up environment is preferred

• A player-coach mindset with hands-on technical proficiency

• Strong track record of collaboration with product teams

• Excellent communication abilities

• Comfort with integrating AI into daily development processes

• Proficient in English
