Head of Engineering, Field Verification

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the Field Verification platform from start to finish.

• Provide guidance for a domain operating without a dedicated engineering leadership.

• Transition the platform from maintenance operations to focused, prioritized development.

• Lead and expand the existing cross-functional team, while building the organization as scope increases.

• Develop trip and route optimization, task allocation, and capacity management for field officers.

• Manage APIs, webhooks, and the back office utilized by other business units.

• Create a native mobile experience for field officers.

• Ensure that verification data is organized, auditable, and compliant with scrutiny requirements.

• Prepare the platform for multi-country growth.

• Collaborate with Product, onboarding, loans, compliance, and fraud business units.

• Establish architecture standards, engineering processes, and quality metrics.

• Recruit and develop engineers and Engineering Managers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hands-on experience in building systems, transitioning into leadership from an engineering background.

• Proficiency across backend, web, and mobile platforms.

• Experience in developing platforms utilized by various distinct user groups and internal business units.

• Flexibility and problem-solving skills across different industries.

• Over 10 years of software engineering experience.

• Significant hands-on production engineering experience with strong backend expertise.

• Familiarity with Java and Spring Boot.

• At least 5 years of engineering leadership experience, including managing Engineering Managers.

• Ability to work collaboratively with product and business stakeholders, translating operational needs into engineering solutions.

• Experience with location and geospatial data, including map integrations, is a significant advantage.

• Experience in route, trip, or delivery optimization is a considerable plus.

• Familiarity with compliance-related building is advantageous.

• Experience with identity, KYC, or verification platforms is beneficial, though not mandatory.
