This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Write, edit, and oversee the creation of ebooks, whitepapers, blog posts, thought leadership articles, and other long-form content from inception to publication.
• Compose and refine ad copy, emails, social media posts, and other short-form material for ongoing as well as campaign-specific marketing efforts.
• Formulate and implement a content marketing strategy that aligns with business objectives, target personas, and the buyer's journey.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Sales teams to identify audience personas, industry trends, and customer pain points.
• Create and manage a variety of content types, including blogs, whitepapers, case studies, eBooks, webinars, videos, and more.
• Simplify complex technical subjects into clear and engaging content in collaboration with subject matter experts.
• Oversee the content calendar and prioritize content requests in line with business priorities.
• Monitor and report on content performance metrics, such as engagement, downloads, and lead quality, along with actionable recommendations.
• Enhance content for SEO, lead generation, and brand consistency.
• Align both organic and paid content strategies with Performance Marketing and adapt assets for paid channels.
• Ensure all content adheres to PagerDuty's brand voice, style guidelines, and quality standards.
• Work in partnership with external agencies, freelancers, and collaborators.
• Support campaigns, product launches, and events with customized content.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor content, and best practices.
• Lead a team of agency content creators and report directly to the Chief Communications Officer.
• 5–8+ years of experience in content marketing, ideally within the B2B SaaS or technology sectors.
• Outstanding writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
• Proven experience in creating content for both technical and business audiences.
• Strong grasp of technology-related topics.
• Openness to experimenting with AI while ensuring human oversight of content.
• Excellent project management and organizational capabilities.
• Familiarity with SEO, analytics, and content management systems like WordPress and HubSpot.
• Capability to work across functions and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Creative thinker with a strong interest in technology and digital transformation.
• Familiarity with the PagerDuty platform or the broader DevOps/AIOps/Operations Cloud ecosystem is preferred.
• Experience with performance or paid marketing teams is advantageous.
• A portfolio showcasing long-form thought leadership and conversion-focused copy is preferred.
• Comfort operating independently as a contractor is preferred.
• This position is not eligible for PagerDuty's employee benefits, equity, or paid-time-off programs.
• Contract duration, working hours, and compensation will be determined with the selected contractor based on project requirements.
• Flexible work arrangements are included in PagerDuty’s general package, though eligibility may differ by role, region, and tenure.
