This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop the strategic direction for TwelveLabs' application layer, encompassing users, workflows, product scope, and priorities.
• Discover targeted market opportunities through customer engagement, rapid prototyping, and systematic market validation.
• Launch AI-driven applications tailored for non-technical users, leveraging core models, agent harnesses, and shared infrastructure.
• Establish application-specific evaluations, task success metrics, reliability benchmarks, human review processes, and launch protocols.
• Take ownership of activation, engagement, retention, monetization, and customer value for delivered applications.
• Create feedback loops between users and products by analyzing usage data and customer behavior.
• Specify platform and model requirements, including functionalities, APIs, latency, quality, and reliability.
• Collaborate with Design, Research, Engineering, Product, Commercial, Revenue, and Partnerships teams.
• Engage with key customers and translate insights into reusable product offerings.
• Recruit and lead a dynamic, high-performing applications team.
• Foster a culture of agility, craftsmanship, direct user engagement, and accountability.
• Within the first 90 days, identify key users and workflows, select application focus areas, prototype with users, establish evaluations and thresholds, define team roles, and make essential hires.
• In the initial 3 months, release a functional product, demonstrate frequent use and tangible customer value, track product metrics, showcase user ROI, standardize customer projects, prioritize core technology enhancements, and form a small autonomous team.
• By the end of the first 6 months, chart a course towards product-market fit, develop scalable growth and monetization strategies, outline the next product portfolio vision, and enhance platform capabilities, model understanding, customer insight, and market entry strategies.
• Over 12 years of experience in product and product leadership roles, ideally within early to mid-stage software companies.
• Proven track record of building and scaling a product from inception to significant adoption.
• Outstanding product judgment.
• Technical fluency in collaborating with engineers and researchers on architecture, model performance, latency, evaluation, reliability, and cost considerations.
• Familiarity with AI-native products, including probabilistic behavior, evaluation design, trust, human review, privacy and rights constraints, as well as quality, latency, and cost trade-offs.
• Experience in designing or leading growth loops that enhance activation, retention, distribution, or monetization.
• Background in recruiting and building a strong early team with a focus on low-ego individuals.
• Capability to operate effectively in a setting where not every function has its own leader.
• Hands-on experience using products, engaging with users, and analyzing data.
• Ability to act swiftly, gather evidence, make informed decisions, and pivot based on findings.
• Strong communication skills across research, engineering, design, and go-to-market teams.
• No specific educational path is mandated.
