This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Ensure precise and prompt entry of transactions into Sage Intacct to uphold the integrity of the general ledger.
• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of accounts related to grants and revenue.
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Use Salesforce data to reconcile grant revenue, restricted funds, and financial activities associated with programs.
• Oversee restricted funds to ensure compliance with grant agreements and funding stipulations.
• Prepare and submit financial reports for grants in accordance with donor and regulatory timelines.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of grant and revenue budgets alongside program teams.
• Prepare monthly grant revenue recognition in alignment with GAAP standards.
• Aid in audit preparation, including the creation of grant-specific schedules and documentation, and address auditor inquiries.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and grant requirements.
• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies, variances, or trends.
• Compile monthly examination reconciliations and investigate discrepancies for review by the Controller.
• Collaborate with program and development teams to guarantee accurate tracking and reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant combination of education and applicable accounting experience.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience in grant fund accounting.
• Strong grasp of GAAP principles, particularly regarding restricted fund accounting and revenue recognition.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Experience with Sage Intacct is preferred.
• Familiarity with Salesforce is preferred.
• Experience in a nonprofit and/or multi-entity environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and private grant compliance requirements is preferred.
• Ability to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting is preferred.
