Government Affairs Manager II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop and nurture relationships with policymakers across state and local governments in the Pacific Northwest.

• Design and implement legislative, regulatory, and political strategies, which include preparing for hearings, delivering testimonies, and participating in regulatory proceedings.

• Create and sustain coalitions with political, advocacy, and industry partners.

• Represent Instacart at trade associations.

• Work collaboratively with Policy Development, Legal, and Public Engagement teams to drive integrated advocacy campaigns.

• Oversee relationships with external consultants and manage annual government affairs budgets.

• Provide consistent reporting and internal documentation on policy developments.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in state or local government, policy, or corporate government relations.

• Proven relationships with policymakers and the ability to engage confidently with elected officials and executives.

• Comprehensive knowledge of state and local lawmaking and regulatory processes.

• Strong strategic thinking abilities complemented by excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Capacity to perform well under pressure while managing both long-term and short-term priorities.

• Innovative and resourceful with a proactive mindset.

• Openness to frequent travel.

• A collaborative mindset with a commitment to adhering to internal guidelines and protocols regarding travel, expenses, budgeting, and tracking.

• Preferred expertise in labor/workforce, ecommerce, or technology policy.

• Experience with Slack is preferred.
