This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Implement Aqua Expeditions’ Global Training & Development strategy throughout operations.
• Assess operational capability gaps by utilizing observation, interviews, performance data, and direct engagement.
• Create, modify, and deliver effective training programs that align with service standards, SOPs, expected behaviors, and business objectives.
• Offer practical, on-the-job, and onboard training across various operations.
• Lead and facilitate onboarding processes, operational inductions, cross-training, refresher training, and continuous learning initiatives.
• Mentor crew members, supervisors, and operational leaders on performance, feedback, team leadership, and personnel development.
• Develop comprehensive growth plans that integrate training, coaching, stretch assignments, cross-exposure, and internal mobility.
• Recognize high-potential employees and assist in succession planning efforts.
• Cultivate internal trainers and subject-matter experts.
• Support Aqua Lab and other practical learning initiatives and platforms.
• Follow up on training and development initiatives to ensure behavioral application and operational enhancement.
• Maintain documentation, evidence, and dashboards that track training, development plans, talent observations, and outcomes.
• Provide field insights and recommendations to Global People & Culture and operational leadership.
• Coordinate with external training providers as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, Organizational Development, Education, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of pertinent professional experience in Training, Learning & Development, Talent Development, operational coaching, or a related area.
• Prior experience in luxury hospitality, cruise, travel, or premium service operations is highly desirable.
• Ability to work remotely while ensuring excellent communication and coordination with global teams across various time zones.
• Proficiency in both English and Spanish is advantageous.
• Knowledge of French is appreciated.
