This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +5 more states.
• Provide specialized technical sales support for Red Hat Lightwell's market strategies.
• Eliminate organizational, technical, and competitive barriers to the adoption of Red Hat Lightwell.
• Clearly communicate the value proposition of Red Hat Lightwell to developers, build and platform engineers, application development leaders, and security and compliance teams.
• Engage in hands-on activities within customer build environments, conduct technical architecture reviews, facilitate business-value discussions, workshops, and implement best practices for dependency management, artifact signing, attestation, and pipeline enforcement.
• Serve as Red Hat's technical lead for trusted software supply chain initiatives, collaborating with Account Solution Architects and Account Executives.
• Lead technical discussions among developers, build engineers, engineering leaders, and security/compliance teams.
• Uphold Red Hat's unique market position against competitors.
• Promote software supply chain solutions across the Red Hat portfolio, encompassing hardened container images, artifact signing, attestation, SBOM generation, pipeline policy enforcement, and runtime security.
• Configure customer builds to interface with Lightwell repositories, execute builds, and troubleshoot alongside engineers.
• Facilitate in-depth technical discussions before and after sales, proofs of concept, bake-offs, internal sprints, hackathons, and partner-specific solutions.
• Identify, engage with, and advocate for customer stakeholders within their teams.
• Provide guidance on integration with artifact management, mirroring, and pipeline environments, including disconnected and air-gapped setups.
• Collaborate with Lightwell business unit and engineering teams to test, document, and showcase features while providing market feedback.
• Conduct community outreach and customer advocacy initiatives, which may include speaking at conferences and writing blog posts.
• Offer training and mentorship to the Red Hat Technical Sales community.
• 6+ years of experience in software engineering, build/release engineering, platform engineering, DevSecOps, or technical sales, with direct accountability for software that has real dependency and upgrade responsibilities.
• Proven ability to engage hands-on in a customer or production build setting.
• Proficient in at least two of Maven, pip, and npm, including knowledge of dependency resolution, transitive dependency behavior, lockfiles, and version constraint semantics.
• Solid understanding of enterprise build configuration, registry and repository settings, and public package registry proxying and mirroring.
• Practical experience with enterprise artifact repositories and internal mirrors.
• Capability to configure, execute, and troubleshoot builds in collaboration with customer engineers.
• Knowledge of build reproducibility, disconnected and air-gapped delivery, and multi-language codebases.
• Familiarity with SLSA build integrity levels and the practical requirements of Level 3.
• Understanding of SBOM formats and lifecycles, including SPDX and CycloneDX.
• Experience with artifact signing and verification, including HSM-backed signing, attestation, and enforcement during build and admission.
• Knowledge of VEX and CSAF.
• Awareness of provenance, typosquatting, and dependency confusion threat models.
• Understanding of upstream open source contribution practices.
• Experience delivering technical presentations and leading business value discussions.
• Credibility with engineering audiences and the ability to engage in leadership or executive conversations, including public speaking.
• Ability to accurately represent product coverage and roadmap.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Preferred: previous experience in a sales engineer, technical sales, or similar role.
• Preferred: professional software development experience in Java or Python ecosystems.
• Preferred: experience managing CI/CD systems, artifact repositories, or internal developer platforms at an enterprise scale.
• Preferred: DevSecOps experience integrating security tools and policies into delivery pipelines.
• Preferred: application security or product security experience.
• Preferred: consistent involvement in an upstream open source project.
• Preferred: foundational understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, OpenShift, and Ansible Automation Platform.
