This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +2 more states.
• Develop and enhance FinAgra’s standard operating procedures (SOPs) for crop cultivation and production protocols.
• Lead the processes for land selection, crop selection, and the development of operational plans.
• Define best agronomic practices related to crop planning, variety selection, nutrition, irrigation, crop protection, and harvesting.
• Assess new agricultural technologies, products, and practices to identify improvements in yield, quality, cost, and operational reliability.
• Design and oversee field trials and validation programs prior to the widespread implementation of new approaches.
• Collaborate with companies specializing in seeds, fertilizers, crop protection, irrigation, and agricultural technology to identify and integrate suitable solutions.
• Transform agronomic expertise into consistent decision-making rules and workflows for FinAgra’s digital platform.
• Assist local agronomy teams with intricate technical decisions and refine protocols based on field performance outcomes.
• Establish a comprehensive knowledge base of agronomic standards, lessons learned, and best practices across FinAgra's markets.
• Identify local agronomy talent and provide guidance, training, and management.
• Strong professional experience in agronomy, crop science, plant science, or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in commercial agriculture.
• Proven track record of introducing or integrating agricultural technologies, products, or new agronomic practices into farming operations.
• Experience with a leading seed, crop-input, agribusiness, or agricultural technology company.
• Deep understanding of how to translate agronomic research into scalable commercial farming practices.
• Experience in designing trials, interpreting field data, and making evidence-based agronomic decisions.
• Ability to identify local agronomy talent across targeted global markets.
• Capability to guide, train, and manage local agronomy professionals.
• Proficiency in converting complex technical knowledge into practical, standardized protocols.
• Comfort working with diverse crops, countries, and farming environments.
