This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas, +1 more state.
• Evaluate compliance tasks prepared by team members to ensure precision and defensibility.
• Oversee segments of customs compliance audits, focusing on risk identification and issue evaluation.
• Confirm the accuracy of data reconciliations, anomalies, and findings related to import compliance.
• Monitor statutes of limitations and manage deadlines for audits and corrections.
• Compose technical language for CF28/CF29 responses, compliance position statements, and audit narratives.
• Detect deficiencies in documentation, classification, valuation, or tariff application.
• Manage workflow across various audit or compliance review initiatives.
• Compile structured findings summaries and assist managers in presenting outcomes to clients.
• Uphold documentation standards, maintain version control, and organize audit workpapers.
• Aid client compliance programs, internal controls, and process enhancements.
• Offer mentorship and support to consultants and analysts.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience.
• Preferred 2–4+ years in customs compliance, trade advisory, brokerage, or importing roles.
• LCB or CCS certification preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, tariff structures, and compliance requirements.
• Capability to identify and articulate compliance risks in a clear and logical manner.
• Exceptional accuracy in reviewing technical documentation.
• Strong analytical abilities.
• Proficient in drafting clear, technically sound compliance narratives or responses.
• Advanced skills in Excel and handling large datasets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines concurrently.
• Experience with CBP audits, focused assessments, internal audits, or compliance reviews.
• Understanding of valuation risks, including assists, royalties, transfer pricing interactions, and First Sale.
• Experience in responding to CBP inquiries, including CF28 and CF29, or conducting classification/valuation reviews.
