GIS, DT Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Ensure the safe and efficient installation, supervision, and handover of Gas Insulated Switchgears.

• Oversee primary and secondary GIS installation projects.

• Interpret technical drawings and adhere to or modify standard GIS installation protocols.

• Utilize foundational knowledge of Local Control Cubicles (LCC).

• Manage personnel, equipment, and tools at construction sites.

• Operate electrical, mechanical, and testing tools and equipment.

• Adhere to company values, EHS regulations, and management system processes.

• Deliver installed Gas Insulated Substations to clients.

• Engage in communication with project managers, Quality Assurance, Technical Support, clients, and contractors.

• Provide weekly updates and status reports to the site coordinator and project manager.

• Assist with Dead Tank Circuit Breakers and other GE Vernova products.

• Analyze data and assess outcomes to identify solutions and address customer concerns.

⛳️ Requirements

• The position is primarily based in the US; candidates must be willing to travel to the EU and Canada for training sessions.

• Completion of electro mechanic or comparable technical training.

• Preferred background in installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical assemblies and electrical control circuits.

• Ability and adaptability to work at remote locations both domestically and internationally under challenging weather conditions.

• An associate’s degree in electrical and/or mechanical technology or a closely related field.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing, with a preference for field experience.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics.

• Willingness to travel up to 85% of the time within the US and internationally by air and car.

• Strong negotiation and leadership abilities.

• Proficient in English.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, as required.
