General Manager – Custody & Compliance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Take charge of Custody & Compliance from start to finish, encompassing strategy, roadmap, priorities, budget, and business outcomes.

• Establish and monitor key performance indicators for deposits, withdrawals, KYC, fraud, and customer activation.

• Enhance customer onboarding processes and expedite money movement while improving conversion rates.

• Strike a balance between risk management and customer satisfaction alongside commercial implications.

• Construct financial and operational models to make informed, data-driven business choices.

• Collaborate directly with C-level executives on strategic initiatives and priorities.

• Manage custody infrastructure and maintain relationships with custody service providers.

• Oversee deposit and withdrawal processes throughout the GoMining ecosystem.

• Optimize transaction processing speed, reliability, and success rates.

• Handle incidents and critical issues concerning customer funds.

• Ensure operational compliance with KYC, AML, and Travel Rule regulations.

• Create scalable compliance operations, including case management, decision SLAs, escalation protocols, and operational workflows.

• Assess false positives and identify overlooked fraud cases.

• Develop fraud prevention guidelines and implement data-driven suspicious activity detection methods.

• Manage relationships with custody, KYC, AML, and infrastructure providers; negotiate terms and facilitate integrations.

• Lead a specialized engineering team while collaborating directly with the Tech Lead.

• Prioritize tasks, manage the backlog, oversee releases, ensure delivery, set team goals, and make hiring and performance decisions.

• Leverage AI and automation to maintain a streamlined team and enhance execution speed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience in crypto custody, payments, KYC/AML, or related financial infrastructure.

• Proven track record of managing custody and compliance processes in a crypto exchange, wallet, broker, crypto bank, BaaS, custody platform, or a similar setting.

• Practical experience with platforms such as Fireblocks, Copper, BitGo, Uphold, or equivalent systems.

• In-depth knowledge of KYC, AML, Travel Rule, transaction monitoring, and fraud prevention practices.

• Experience in developing scalable operational compliance processes.

• Proven ability to engage directly with external providers and negotiate commercial agreements.

• Strong product-oriented and commercial perspective.

• Capacity to comprehend how compliance choices influence conversion rates, revenue, and customer experiences.

• Excellent analytical skills and confidence in making decisions based on data.

• Technical proficiency with the ability to collaborate directly with engineers.

• Experience in team management and overseeing delivery.

• Background in crypto or fintech is strongly preferred.
