General Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement regulatory and legal strategies to enhance Stedi's engagements with payers.

• Navigate compliance requirements, enforcement, and the dynamics of relationships with entities that control market access.

• Lead matters related to competition and enforcement, defending and promoting Stedi’s interests.

• Establish the legal framework for innovative data products within complex regulatory landscapes.

• Identify opportunities for growth, expedite agreements, and eliminate obstacles through legal and regulatory expertise.

• Oversee the entire legal function, encompassing contracts, disputes, compliance, intellectual property, employment, corporate governance, and fundraising.

• Collaborate closely with the CEO and board on strategic decisions that involve legal and regulatory aspects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of relevant experience in law firms and fast-paced in-house environments.

• Significant in-house experience, particularly in managing litigations and disputes, ideally in a senior legal capacity at a high-growth company.

• Strong preference for deep healthcare experience; ideal candidates will have experience in healthcare infrastructure, payers, providers, or health technology.

• Consideration will also be given to those with extensive experience in other heavily regulated, high-complexity sectors, such as financial services, payments, or insurance.

• Capacity to function as a true generalist across various legal domains.

• Ability to operate swiftly in a dynamic environment.

• A commercial and business-focused mindset.

• Philosophical alignment with the Stedi Standards.

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

• Membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
