Fully Licensed Therapist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Deliver evidence-based therapy for families, individuals, and groups dealing with eating disorders and related diagnoses in a remote clinic environment.

• Apply FBT, CBT-E, CBT for ARFID, and various other evidence-based therapeutic approaches for clients across different age groups.

• Manage a caseload of 30-40 patients, dedicating 20-26 hours to direct care and allocating the remaining time for administrative responsibilities.

• Engage in both initial and ongoing training sessions.

• Evaluate and diagnose mental health disorders.

• Collaborate with a team comprising physicians, dietitians, patient mentors, family mentors, and external providers.

• Utilize between-session messaging to support patients and maintain communication with the treatment team via Equip’s EMR.

• Attend Treatment Team meetings, supervision sessions, and departmental gatherings.

• Keep licensure active in the home state and acquire additional state licenses as needed.

• Work in conjunction with a multidisciplinary care team that includes nutritionists, medical professionals, psychiatric experts, and mentors.

• Provide evidence-based treatment, maintain quality documentation, and continuously assess the needs of patients and their families.

• Undertake other responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess an active, unrestricted, and independent license to practice psychotherapy in Iowa.

• Capability to manage a diverse caseload of patients of all ages, with co-occurring conditions, varied backgrounds, and different levels of acuity.

• Strong commitment to evidence-based care and treatment methodologies.

• Availability to provide care two evenings a week, staying available until 8pm in the primary time zone of the patient caseload.

• Proficiency in delivering care effectively and safely in a virtual environment.

• A deep passion for mental health and eating disorder treatment and for increasing access to essential services.

• Demonstrated availability of 30 hours per week for direct patient care.

• Willingness to commit to a minimum of 16 hours of direct patient care after 2pm during the week, or 3pm in Mountain Standard Time.

• Readiness to attend mandatory meetings.

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in a mental health counseling/therapy program accredited by CACREP, COAMFTE, CSWE, MPCAC, or a similar accrediting body.

• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

• Preferred: Experience with Family-Based Treatment and/or eating disorder care.

• Preferred: Familiarity with evidence-based treatment approaches and/or intensive treatment settings.

• Preferred: Experience in supporting patients with suicidal ideation and trauma-related issues.

• Preferred: Background in case management and/or working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary care team.

• Must be willing to provide care solely in a virtual/telehealth format.

• Reliable internet connection and a private workspace are essential.
