This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Serve as a Development Specialist within a team, leading with authority and offering daily technical guidance to members.
• Collaborate with other specialists to design and implement new features and technical enhancements.
• Make informed decisions based on data, facts, benefits, and trade-offs associated with each approach.
• Facilitate a gradual, organic, and continuous migration of the platform from Node.js to Kotlin while ensuring that current deliveries are not disrupted.
• Take responsibility for tasks and the evolution of the platform, working alongside fellow engineers and advocating for structural changes.
• Mentor and engage developers by leading with authority and acting as a change agent.
• Design, code, test, deploy, and maintain scalable applications.
• Ensure productivity and technical excellence in both code and architecture.
• Support the efficient adoption of technologies, languages, and frameworks with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
• Promote the mindful use of Generative AI and FinOps practices to optimize cloud resources and streamline the delivery cycle.
• Maintain application health through observability and root cause analysis (RCA).
• Conduct critical code reviews, encourage pair programming, and support the career development of developers.
• Strong technical expertise to code effectively in Node.js, Kotlin, and React.
• In-depth understanding of design patterns and engineering best practices (Clean Code, SOLID, KISS, DRY), the AWS Well-Architected Framework, the Test Pyramid, and API integration, webhooks, and messaging.
• Hands-on experience with both orchestrated and choreographed architectures, as well as monolithic and microservices architectures, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and strategies for stack coexistence during migrations.
• Proficient in relational and NoSQL databases, including MongoDB and DynamoDB, with the ability to make decisions grounded in the PIE and CAP theorems.
• Experience utilizing Generative AI tools in software development.
• Advanced knowledge in AWS architecture, containerization, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Mastery of SRE practices and tools such as New Relic, Grafana, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry, encompassing logs, metrics, and traces.
• Capable of engaging and inspiring change across various teams, earning the trust of colleagues and stakeholders.
• Nice to have: experience with Quarkus and native compilation.
