Full Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Collaborate across the consumer borrowing product, underwriting and loan systems, along with internal sales and operations tools.

• Transform intricate loan rules, requirements, and edge cases into clean, scalable code and user-friendly experiences.

• Strategically plan, develop, and launch products in a cooperative environment as part of a focused engineering team.

• Work closely with product and design teams to create effective internal tools.

• Assume project lead responsibilities in rotation, starting with smaller features and advancing to larger projects.

• Define the scope of projects, coordinate team tasks, track progress, and communicate updates.

• Collaborate with product, design, and both internal and external stakeholders to gather domain knowledge and devise solutions.

• Support initiatives such as automating underwriting processes, broadening policy eligibility across insurance carriers, launching native iOS and Android applications, and redesigning the origination document framework.

• Engage in asynchronous collaboration via Slack and synchronous communication through regular developer discussions.

• Progress independently while navigating across various time zones.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in shipping and owning production code — you’ve taken features from concept to launch, not merely contributed.

• Approximately 4+ years of experience serves as a helpful reference.

• Proficient in working across the entire technology stack.

• Capable of driving straightforward, effective solutions to loosely defined challenges.

• Self-motivated and comfortable with ambiguity in a remote environment.

• Strong attention to detail in a high-precision setting where accuracy is crucial.

• Collaborative and humble approach: open-minded, adaptable, communicative, and user-focused.

• Thoughtful integration of AI in workflows, aware of its limitations and adept at leveraging human input effectively.

• Experience in FinTech or other regulated industries is preferred.

• Prior experience with a product that involves financial transactions is advantageous.

• Familiarity with TypeScript, Next, React, GraphQL, Node, Prisma, AWS, Terraform, Docker, and DBT is preferred.
