This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Architect, design, create, and develop features for web applications.
• Generate back-end code and interfaces for new web platforms.
• Assess user requirements to implement front-end design, graphics, performance, and capacity.
• Integrate applications with other platforms as necessary.
• Keep up-to-date with web developments and current trends.
• Prototype and deploy backend web applications utilizing modern open-source software.
• Manage server-side processing, data storage, and frontend integration.
• Create documentation for API and deployment operations.
• Acquire knowledge of new programming tools and techniques.
• Manage large datasets and scale their processing and storage effectively.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to develop and maintain an external-facing web portal for an enterprise data and analytics platform.
• Design and implement user-facing features employing JavaScript and React JS.
• Develop, debug, and enhance front-end performance.
• Convert designs and wireframes into reusable, testable, and efficient front-end code.
• Construct, iterate, and test scalable back-end APIs.
• Design and develop data models to enhance web application data access.
• Engage in Agile processes, including standups, demos, retrospectives, and sprint planning.
• Collect and integrate business requirements with product owners and business analysts.
• Gather and implement product, front-end, and back-end requirements in collaboration with designers and engineers.
• Provide support, maintenance, and enhancements to the existing application.
• Communicate and clarify designs and requirements with product managers, engineers, and QA.
• Must successfully complete a public trust clearance through the U.S. Federal Government.
• U.S. citizenship or eligibility for clearance via the Foreign National Government System.
• Foreign-national candidates must have resided in the United States for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
• Valid, non-expired passport from country of origin and any necessary visa/work permit documentation.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience with a leading cloud service provider; AWS is preferred.
• Proficient in Python and Django.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Experience with Node.js and React or Angular.
• Knowledge of APIs, JSON, Web APIs, REST APIs, JSON-RPC, XML-RPC, RESTful practices, and GraphQL.
• Experience with Docker containerization and deployments.
• Understanding of relational and non-relational databases such as SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Proficient with benchmarking, monitoring, and performance engineering tools like Grafana, Sentry, and Prometheus.
• Experience in automated end-to-end unit tests and testing platforms.
• Strong documentation and problem-solving capabilities.
• Familiarity with Git and AWS DevSecOps.
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Knowledge of Agile methodology and test-driven development.
• Experience with Atlassian Jira/Confluence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Understanding of AuthN and AuthZ systems, including Active Directory, Okta, and AWS IAM Policies/Roles with attribute-based access controls.
• Familiarity with Medicaid data and healthcare data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services or the healthcare sector.
