This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, create, test, and maintain application components utilizing Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, and database-driven elements.
• Develop secure REST and SOAP web services.
• Construct and support integrations with external Department of Defense (DoD) and federal systems.
• Implement software in accordance with DoD cybersecurity, testing, and configuration standards.
• Assist in deployment and release activities within cloud-hosted environments like AWS GovCloud.
• Operate within 2–6 week sprint cycles employing government-provided tools such as JIRA or comparable alternatives.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to refine user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Engage in sprint planning, stand-up meetings, backlog grooming, and demonstrations.
• Provide estimates, maintain story updates, and produce development documentation.
• Deliver Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support to address incidents, defects, and user-reported issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective measures.
• Maintain integration flows, ensuring data accuracy and system reliability.
• Monitor environments to resolve performance or functionality challenges.
• Create and sustain technical specifications, interface and integration documentation, test scripts and execution results, release notes, and version control logs.
• Support Change Advisory Boards (CAB) and Configuration Control Boards (CCB) as needed.
• Adhere to DISA, DoD, and program-specific development standards and protocols.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders, engineering teams, functional SMEs, testers, and security professionals.
• Assist in risk identification, mitigation planning, and ongoing improvements.
• Effectively communicate technical issues and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Over 5 years of full-stack development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java (JDK), JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, relational databases, web service development (REST/SOAP), CI/CD tools and pipelines, middleware (WebLogic, Apache, Tomcat), and data integration/ETL layers.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GovCloud equivalents), version control (Git, SVN, etc.), as well as defensive coding and secure development practices.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum frameworks.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
