Full Stack Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and uphold features and capabilities of the ERAS Platform

• Create backend APIs utilizing Python, Ruby, or JavaScript within the cloud.gov infrastructure

• Construct frontend web applications employing JavaScript/TypeScript along with React or Ember.js

• Write and uphold automated tests to ensure a minimum of 90% code coverage each sprint

• Confirm that code adheres to zero linting errors and zero warnings according to MDN Web Developer Guides

• Implement features that are accessible in compliance with WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA standards

• Assist in the development of Salesforce components as necessary

• Engage in code reviews and adhere to secure coding practices as per OWASP and US-CERT standards

• Facilitate integration with USDA mission systems through RESTful APIs

• Maintain and revise deployment scripts and configurations

• Aid in creating sprint documentation, inline code documentation, and system diagrams

• Support a Federal client engaged in a business and IT modernization initiative

⛳️ Requirements

• Eligibility to obtain a Public Trust

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required; equivalent work experience may be accepted in place of a degree

• At least 3 to 5 years of software development experience, demonstrating proficiency in both frontend and backend development

• Expertise in at least one modern backend programming language (Python, Ruby, or JavaScript)

• Experience with frontend frameworks such as React or Ember.js

• Knowledge of RESTful API development and microservices architecture

• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and sprint-driven delivery

• Understanding of Section 508 accessibility standards

• Experience with version control through GitHub

• Proven ability to contribute to agile development teams with consistent sprint deliverables

• Demonstrated experience in writing unit tests and achieving substantial test coverage

• Awareness of accessibility standards and Section 508 compliance in web applications
