Frontend Manager, Software Engineer – Hands-On

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the delivery of a highly efficient, high-conversion self-service product for global B2B partner onboarding.

• Design and manage the experimentation infrastructure utilizing Growthbook.

• Facilitate complex, concurrent A/B testing across both frontend and backend environments.

• Oversee and design frontend applications employing Tanstack, React, and TypeScript.

• Direct and architect backend services utilizing Kotlin and AWS.

• Integrate frontend and backend systems with Salesforce CRM/ERP data workflows.

• Establish contemporary SDLC standards.

• Promote the use of AI-assisted development tools for coding, reviews, and testing.

• Cultivate a high-performance culture within a hybrid team of 6 engineers: 4 Frontend and 2 Backend.

• Write code, review pull requests, and guide system architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient working knowledge of English.

• Proven experience in directly managing and leading cross-functional software engineering teams in rapidly growing, product-centric settings.

• Extensive hands-on experience and a profound architectural comprehension of modern full-stack ecosystems.

• Proficiency in Kotlin or Java, AWS, React, and TypeScript.

• Capability to code, review pull requests, and guide system design.

• In-depth practical experience with A/B testing methodologies and experimentation feature-flagging tools, ideally including Growthbook, LaunchDarkly, Optimizely, or similar.

• Knowledge of rapid telemetry and tracking systems.

• Experience with React and TypeScript.

• Significant experience with microservices and micro-frontend architectures at scale.

• Active utilization and advocacy of AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, or GitHub Copilot.

• Ability to explain complex technical trade-offs to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.

• Previous experience in people management is essential.

• Mandatory deep architectural understanding of modern full-stack ecosystems.
