Frontend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sweden.

📋 Description

• Design and oversee the development of Keet Desktop, a cross-platform peer-to-peer communication application.

• Create user interfaces and experiences utilizing React on the Pear runtime.

• Enhance the performance of the application.

• Play a vital role in shaping the future of decentralized communication.

• Collaborate with a Node.js-driven, open-source peer-to-peer technology stack.

• Establish and sustain reliable peer-to-peer connections and data replication systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience with React/Preact and modern JavaScript/TypeScript in large-scale production applications.

• Strong proficiency in state management utilizing Redux, Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or similar frameworks.

• Capability to produce modular, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code.

• Solid expertise in testing and debugging intricate frontend applications.

• Profound interest or experience in peer-to-peer technologies or distributed systems.

• Comfortable working within a remote, globally distributed team environment.

• Strong communication skills.

• Excellent proficiency in English communication.

• Preferred: experience in desktop application development using Electron, Tauri, or similar environments.

• Preferred: knowledge of video/audio APIs, WebRTC, media streams, and real-time communication.

• Preferred: ability to enhance UI performance, including rendering and memory management.

• Preferred: experience in developing cross-platform applications for macOS, Windows, Linux, or similar systems.

• Bonus: previous contributions to open-source projects, particularly in peer-to-peer or decentralized technologies.
