Front-end Engineer 5, SEO - Shopping

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Expand the reach of Capital One Shopping utilizing SEO, AEO, and GEO strategies.

• Create and develop high-performance, well-optimized front-end code and architectures to enhance user experience and search visibility.

• Collaborate with Software Engineers, Designers, and Product Managers to implement features for over 100 million customers.

• Design, construct, and sustain core components and shared libraries for various teams.

• Contribute to standards ensuring cross-platform consistency, scalability, and accessibility.

• Act as a subject matter expert in SEO, web performance, networking, or design systems.

• Work alongside infrastructure and backend teams to enhance CI/CD, observability, reliability engineering, and release practices.

• Establish strategies for agentic AI tools, specialized agents, skills, and open-standard tools such as the Model Context Protocol.

• Mentor and guide senior engineers in AI-native workflows and agentic coding practices.

• Utilize modern web ecosystem knowledge, including PWAs, Wasm, mobile web, and Service Workers, to address challenging product-area issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering).

• A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in software engineering; internship experience is not included.

• At least 6 years of experience in developing applications using TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and modern web frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, Svelte).

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in architecting or leading the development of federated front-end or design systems with cross-application adoption.
