Freelance Subtitling Linguist – Turkish-to-English

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Generate subtitle files by conforming, translating, or proofreading/QC'ing, utilizing Pixelogic and/or client-specific cloud-based subtitling software.

• Employ the in-house glossary tool and adhere to client style guides to ensure consistency.

• Manage rejections and implement corrections in files.

• Keep abreast of industry trends and adjust to changing client needs.

• Uphold the confidentiality of sensitive materials.

• Collaborate with the language services department to assist with comprehensive client projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in English.

• Advanced or native proficiency in Turkish.

• At least 2 years of professional experience in Turkish-to-English subtitling translation and/or proofreading/QC.

• Professional background in film, television, streaming, or other audiovisual content.

• Exceptional English writing skills, with a keen focus on accuracy, grammar, punctuation, tone, and natural phrasing.

• Capability to accurately comprehend and translate Urdu-language audiovisual content into fluent English subtitles.

• Proficiency in following client-specific style guides and technical specifications.

• Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and manage short turnaround times effectively.

• Experience working with cloud-based subtitling tools and platforms.
