Freelance Subtitling Linguist, English to Polish

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Generate subtitle files by conforming, translating, adapting, or performing proofreading/QC tasks using Pixelogic's exclusive cloud-based subtitling platform.

• Translate and modify SDH cues, which encompass speaker identification, sound effects, music cues, and various accessibility components.

• Ensure linguistic precision and readability.

• Utilize in-house glossary resources to maintain consistency across all products.

• Adhere to client style guide specifications and SDH accessibility standards.

• Address rejections and implement corrections in files.

• Stay updated with industry trends and adjust to changing client needs.

• Safeguard the confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Foster a collaborative professional environment within Pixelogic's language services team to facilitate end-to-end client projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native-level proficiency in Polish along with exceptional English language capabilities.

• Knowledge of additional languages is considered a plus.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in subtitling and/or SDH translation, adaptation, and/or proofreading/QC is required.

• Proven understanding of SDH conventions, including speaker IDs, sound effect descriptions, and accessibility-oriented subtitle practices.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Demonstrated capability to meet deadlines in a demanding schedule, including timely delivery and adaptable working hours.

• Ability to comply with technical specifications, accessibility guidelines, and style manuals for various client content types.
