Freelance Mandarin Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China.

📋 Description

• Facilitate clear and effective communication between individuals who speak English and those who do not.

• Prepare thoroughly for interpreting sessions by reviewing relevant materials and grasping the context.

• Uphold confidentiality and comply with the Code of Professional Conduct.

• Collaborate with members of the LinguaLinx team, clients, and other service providers to ensure effective communication.

• Deliver video remote interpretation (VRI) services for community events, educational assistance, and healthcare appointments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completion of a 40-hour Medical Interpreting Training Course.

• Proficiency in both English and the target language(s), in spoken and written forms.

• Compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• A reliable internet connection for remote tasks.

• Capability to work independently and adapt to diverse environments and client needs.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Valid U.S. work authorization is required.

• May be subject to a background check.

• Previous experience in medical, legal, or educational interpreting is preferred.

• Comfort with simultaneous interpreting is preferred.

• Professional certifications (CCHI, NBCMI, or state court certification) are a plus.
