Freelance Full-Time English into Simplified Chinese, CTD Module Language Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Serve as the primary linguistic liaison for clients at TransPerfect

• Assess and investigate client grievances and quality-related concerns

• Identify root causes and deliver prompt, documented solutions and corrective measures

• Uphold language quality standards across various projects and accounts

• Oversee translation memories, glossaries, and style guides

• Collaborate with Project Managers on project specifications, scope, timelines, and client expectations

• Collect and communicate client feedback for ongoing and future projects

• Supervise and direct a team of linguists, including task assignment and feedback provision

• Ensure compliance of linguists with client specifications and quality benchmarks

• Translate and proofread Life Science documents for regulatory accuracy, consistency, and terminology adherence

⛳️ Requirements

• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities in English and Simplified Chinese (China)

• Proficiency in CTD Quality, CTD Non-Clinical, and/or CTD Clinical domains

• Keen attention to detail, particularly in spelling and grammar

• Capacity to maintain professionalism and produce high-quality work under strict deadlines

• Excellent client communication skills and the ability to address complaints and feedback with diplomacy

• Capability to manage, mentor, and provide clear feedback to fellow linguists

• Strong organizational skills and proficiency in cross-functional collaboration

• Candidates must meet at least one of the following criteria: a degree in Translation, Linguistics, Language Studies, or a related program with substantial translation training; 2 years of professional translation experience along with a college degree; 5 years of professional translation experience without a college degree; or a translation competence certificate issued by a relevant government authority

• Candidates are required to sign a confidentiality agreement

• Completion of free translation and MTPE assessments is mandatory

• Preferred: an academic background in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field

• Preferred: experience in translating regulatory or pharmaceutical documents

• Preferred: familiarity with CTD structure, terminology, and CMC technical content

• Preferred: prior experience in lead roles, reviewing, or quality management, including handling client feedback or complaints

• Preferred: experience with language asset management and CAT tools
