Freelance Full-Time English into Simplified Chinese, CTD Module Language Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Translate and proofread Life Science documents from English to Simplified Chinese (China).

• Serve as the linguistic point of contact for clients at TransPerfect.

• Review and address client complaints and issues related to quality.

• Identify root causes and provide documented solutions and corrective measures.

• Uphold language quality standards across all projects and accounts.

• Manage translation memories, glossaries, and style guides effectively.

• Collaborate with Project Managers regarding project requirements, scope, timelines, and client expectations.

• Collect and communicate client feedback, integrating it into ongoing and future projects.

• Supervise and guide a team of linguists, including task assignment and feedback provision.

• Ensure compliance with client specifications and quality standards.

• Guarantee translation accuracy, consistency, and adherence to client and regulatory terminology.

⛳️ Requirements

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both English and Simplified Chinese (China).

• Proficient in CTD Quality, CTD Non-Clinical, and/or CTD Clinical fields.

• Keen attention to detail, ensuring spelling and grammar correctness.

• Capability to maintain professionalism and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.

• Excellent client communication abilities, including the diplomatic and constructive handling of complaints and feedback.

• Proficient in managing, mentoring, and providing clear feedback to fellow linguists.

• Strong organizational capabilities and the ability to work collaboratively with Project Managers and cross-functional teams.

• Applicants must fulfill at least one of the following: a degree in Translation, Linguistics, Language Studies, or an equivalent translation-training program; 2 years of professional translation experience plus a college degree; 5 years of professional translation experience without a college degree; or hold a translation competence certificate from an appropriate government authority.

• Applicants are required to sign a confidentiality agreement.

• Completion of translation and MTPE assessments is mandatory.

• Preferred: academic background in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, or related field.

• Preferred: experience in translating regulatory/pharmaceutical documents.

• Preferred: familiarity with CTD structure, terminology, and CMC technical content.

• Preferred: previous experience in lead, reviewer, or quality management roles, including client feedback or complaint handling.

• Preferred: experience with language asset management and CAT tools.
