Freelance Full-Time English into Simplified Chinese – CTD Module Language Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China.

📋 Description

• Translate and proofread Life Science documents from English into Simplified Chinese (China)

• Act as a client-facing linguistic liaison for TransPerfect

• Review and address client concerns and quality-related issues

• Identify root causes and deliver timely, documented responses along with corrective measures

• Uphold language quality standards across various projects and accounts

• Oversee translation memories, glossaries, and style guides

• Collaborate with Project Managers to comprehend requirements, scope, timelines, and client expectations

• Collect and communicate client feedback, integrating it into ongoing and future projects

• Supervise and guide a team of linguists, including work assignment and feedback provision

• Ensure compliance with client requirements and quality benchmarks

• Translate and proofread CTD Quality, CTD Non-Clinical, and CTD Clinical materials

• Provide precise, consistent work that aligns with client and regulatory terminology

⛳️ Requirements

• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities in English and Simplified Chinese (China)

• Proficiency in CTD Quality, CTD Non-Clinical, and/or CTD Clinical fields

• Keen attention to detail, particularly in spelling and grammar accuracy

• Capacity to maintain professionalism and produce high-quality work under tight deadlines

• Strong client communication skills, including the ability to handle complaints and feedback in a diplomatic and constructive manner

• Ability to manage, mentor, and provide clear feedback to fellow linguists

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to collaborate with Project Managers and cross-functional teams

• One of the following: a degree in Translation, Linguistics, Language Studies, or a comparable program with substantial translation training from a recognized university; 2 years of professional translation experience alongside a college degree; 5 years of professional translation experience without a college degree; or a translation competence certificate issued by a relevant government authority

• Applicants must agree to sign a confidentiality agreement

• Preferred: academic background in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field

• Preferred: experience in translating regulatory/pharmaceutical documents

• Preferred: familiarity with CTD structure and terminology and CMC technical content

• Preferred: previous experience as a lead, reviewer, or in quality management, including managing client feedback or complaints

• Preferred: experience with language asset management and CAT tools

• Proficiency in English and Simplified Chinese is mandatory
