Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate across Sales, Product, R&D, and Implementation teams.

• Quickly establish the existing product on customer data to demonstrate value in strategic deals.

• Rapidly create near-production-ready solutions when product capabilities fall short.

• Take ownership of discovery, technical scoping, architecture, implementation, evaluation, productionization, adoption, and handoff.

• Partner with Solutions Consultants and Account Executives on strategic accounts and new opportunities.

• Construct, deploy, and assess solutions utilizing customer data.

• Evaluate adoption, workflow impact, reliability, and time-to-value; iterate with stakeholders.

• Design production solutions focusing on security, reliability, observability, maintainability, and architectural integration.

• Collaborate with Product and R&D to transform validated customer patterns into roadmap investments, reusable components, and platform enhancements.

• Create reusable accelerators and customer solution specifications.

• Align customer needs, ideas, roadmaps, and visions with Product and Sales.

• Assess business potential, market needs, competitive differentiation, and functional/technical specifications.

• Measure role outcomes such as influenced ACV, prototype speed, production graduation, accelerator reuse, and product gap follow-through.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong customer-facing and commercial skills, including technical discovery and value discussions with both technical and business stakeholders.

• Ability to generalize customer solutions into reusable accelerators.

• Experience in LLM application development, RAG, prompt and context engineering, and agent orchestration.

• Sound judgment regarding single versus multi-agent patterns and managing memory and state.

• Familiarity with modern AI coding tools such as Claude Code.

• Knowledge of enterprise integrations within regulated utility markets.

• Experience with ESRI ArcGIS/Smallworld, IBM Maximo/EAM, SAP/Oracle ERP/PPM, and PowerBI/reporting systems.

• Technical and functional comprehension of REST and streaming APIs, authentication patterns, and enterprise systems of record.

• Domain experience in asset-intensive industries or capital and asset investment planning is a significant advantage, though not a requirement.

• Willingness to travel to customer sites as necessary, up to approximately 50%.

• Background in software or data engineering; experience in building and deploying maintainable production software.

• Proficiency in Angular, Python, or a comparable language; adaptability to unfamiliar languages and codebases.

• Understanding of SQL, data modeling, and pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and serving.

• Strong debugging skills against imperfect customer data in live environments.

• Depth of experience in production engineering focused on observability, performance, and operating at scale.

• Previous customer-facing technical roles, including solutions engineering, forward deployment, technical consulting, or startup experience.

• Prior experience deploying AI in enterprise or regulated settings.
