This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Collaborate across Sales, Product, R&D, and Implementation teams.
• Quickly implement the current product on customer data to demonstrate value in strategic deals.
• Swiftly create near-production-ready prototypes when product features fall short of customer requirements.
• Manage the entire lifecycle for strategic customer solutions, including discovery, technical scoping, architecture, implementation, evaluation, productionization, adoption, and handoff.
• Partner with Solutions Consultants and Account Executives on strategic accounts and new opportunities.
• Design, deploy, and assess solutions leveraging customer data.
• Evaluate adoption, workflow impact, reliability, and time-to-value, and iterate based on feedback from stakeholders.
• Develop production solutions ensuring security, reliability, observability, maintainability, and integration with customer architecture.
• Collaborate with Product and R&D teams to transform validated customer patterns and production insights into roadmap investments, reusable components, and platform enhancements.
• Create reusable accelerators based on recurring customer requirements.
• Develop and continually refine solution specifications in collaboration with customers.
• Assess business potential, market demands, competitive differentiation, and functional/technical specifications with the Product team.
• Align customer needs, ideas, roadmaps, and visions with Product and Sales organizations.
• Strong customer-facing and commercial skills.
• Capability to conduct technical discovery sessions and engage in value discussions with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Proficiency in linking technical solutions to customer outcomes and deal value.
• Ability to generalize customer solutions into reusable accelerators.
• Experience in developing applications using LLMs, RAG, prompt and context engineering, and agent orchestration.
• Sound judgment regarding single versus multi-agent patterns as well as managing memory and state.
• Regular use of contemporary AI coding tools such as Claude Code.
• Familiarity with enterprise integrations in regulated utility sectors.
• Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS/Smallworld, IBM Maximo/EAM, SAP/Oracle ERP/PPM, and PowerBI/reporting systems.
• Technical and functional comprehension of REST and streaming APIs, authentication methodologies, and enterprise systems of record.
• Engineering expertise; domain experience in utilities, energy, transportation, or capital and asset investment planning is highly advantageous but not a prerequisite.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations as necessary, up to approximately 50% of the time.
• Background in software or data engineering with experience in building and delivering maintainable software solutions.
• Proficiency in Angular, Python, or a comparable language; adaptable to working in unfamiliar programming languages and codebases.
• Understanding of SQL, data modeling, and pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and serving.
• Strong debugging capabilities with imperfect customer data in live environments.
• Depth of experience in production engineering concerning observability, performance, and operating at scale.
• Prior experience in customer-facing technical roles, solutions engineering, forward deployment, technical consulting, or startups.
• Previous experience deploying AI in enterprise or regulated settings.
