Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee client relationships while delivering technical support to uphold excellence and foster new product innovation.

• Facilitate comprehensive implementations, ensuring data integrity, user adoption, and tailored customizations for clients.

• Coordinate efforts among account teams and engineering resources to enhance customer success.

• Address customer requirements promptly using applicable technical skills.

• Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of technology from data aggregation to product delivery.

• Advance and scale technology from data pipelining to innovative solutions, ensuring data precision based on client feedback.

• Create product lines such as local pricing, e-commerce intelligence, and supply chain analysis to maximize client ROI.

• Utilize data visualization and UI/UX expertise to enhance customer engagement and user-friendliness.

• Collaborate with teams from data science, engineering, and sales.

• Motivate customers to extract value from data products.

• Rigorously document coding activities, train new employees, and contribute to platform engineering initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Knowledge of analytics and/or financial reporting.

• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, with a focus on storytelling through data.

• Exceptional expertise and practical experience in SQL or Python.

• Familiarity with project management tools like Jira.

• Expertise in data visualization using Tableau, Excel, Power BI, or Retool.

• Understanding of time-series statistical methods for detecting outliers, including Prophet, ARIMA, and Tukey's Fences.

• Experience in developing end-to-end data products.

• Proven ability to derive actionable insights from alternative data sources.

• Background in retail/e-commerce, market research, startups, or analytics.

• Experience handling retail or consumer data.

• Proven experience in scaling BI infrastructure to accommodate 10TB+ data ingestion.

• A hacker mentality.

• Preferred but not mandatory: experience in building, deploying, and maintaining dimensional data models using dbt.

• Preferred but not mandatory: familiarity with data warehousing solutions like Snowflake, Google BigQuery, or ClickHouse.
